Steele & Freeman, Inc. NAMED for the Second Time to the AGGIE 100, Honoring the Fastest Growing Aggie Owned or Managed Companies Worldwide

Fort Worth, Texas, January 8, 2010:  –Steele & Freeman, Inc., of Fort Worth, Texas, is among the top 100 companies named to the 5th Annual Aggie 100 honoring the fastest-growing companies in the world owned or operated by Texas A&M University former students. Steele & Freeman was recognized as number Fifty Six on the list. This is the second time Steele & Freeman has made the Aggie 100 since the award was introduced five years ago (previously winning in 2007).  The Aggie 100 honors graduates from across disciplines and is a program of the Center for New Ventures and Entrepreneurship in Texas A&M University’s Mays Business School.

Steele & Freeman’s thirty years of building started with David Freeman, who founded SFI in 1979.  His son Mike, Aggie ’93, grew up working at Steele & Freeman during high school and college summer vacations.  After Mike graduated from Texas A&M with a Bachelor of Business Administration (Management) he started working at SFI full time.   David retired a decade ago; Mike took over as President and is one of four owners, all of whom work for SFI.

“We are honored to be selected for the 5th Annual Aggie 100, in recognition of Steele & Freeman’s successes,  especially because this is our second time to receive the award in the five years the list has been in existence”, remarked Mike Freeman.

The 100 Aggie-owned or managed companies with the highest compound annual revenue growth from 2006 to 2008 were recognized at a formal luncheon at Texas A&M University on Friday, Nov. 6, 2009, and Michael Freeman was invited to speak to a group of 200 students at the College of Construction Science about his experiences.
